Establish a better foundation first.
More dissolving medication is not necessarily better. When filler can be visualized, your provider can more deliberately determine where to treat, how much to treat, and whether dissolving is appropriate at all.

Most traditional filler dissolving involves hyaluronidase, an enzyme used to break down hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic-acid fillers — including many products within the JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, and RHA® families — may be dissolvable with hyaluronidase.
Not all injectable products can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Products such as Sculptra® and RADIESSE® are not hyaluronic-acid fillers and require a different approach if correction is needed.

Designed for procedural guidance, the system provides high-resolution imaging and specialized needle-visualization technology that allows the provider to visualize anatomy and needle placement during treatment.
For filler correction, this gives us another layer of information beyond what can be seen or felt from the surface.
Your provider first evaluates the treatment area, using ultrasound when appropriate to identify previously placed filler and relevant anatomy. Treatment time varies with the area and complexity of the correction.
If dissolving is recommended, hyaluronidase may be precisely placed into targeted areas of hyaluronic-acid filler. Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising may occur afterward.
Changes may begin relatively quickly, but swelling and tissue changes can make the area difficult to assess immediately. Your provider may recommend allowing the area to settle before determining whether additional treatment is needed.
Ultrasound findings are only one part of your evaluation. Your provider will consider your anatomy, previous treatments, examination findings, goals, and available clinical evidence when determining whether dissolving is appropriate. Hyaluronidase use for dissolving cosmetic hyaluronic-acid filler is generally considered off-label, meaning it is not FDA-approved specifically for this cosmetic indication. Risks, benefits, alternatives, and expected outcomes will be reviewed before treatment.
No. Any information you have about the product, amount, treatment area, and date of injection is helpful, but we can still evaluate you if those details are unknown.
