If you notice meaningful change, bleeding, itching, or other concerning features, it’s reasonable to have it evaluated rather than waiting.

Does a biopsy mean you think I have cancer? +

No. A biopsy is a diagnostic tool used to determine exactly what a lesion is.

Can you check one spot without doing a full-body exam? +

Yes. A focused spot check may be appropriate when you have a particular concern. Your provider may recommend a broader exam depending on your history or what is found.

What if it’s benign but bothers me? +

Tell us. Depending on the type and location of the growth, removal may still be possible — although removal for cosmetic reasons may not be covered by insurance.
