The Treatment

Resurface. Renew. Remodel.

Laser resurfacing addresses more than just softening lines and improving sun spots.

Using advanced ablative and non-ablative fractional technologies, we customize treatment to address visible sun damage, texture, tone, scars, and signs of aging while stimulating renewal and remodeling within the skin. Depending on the approach selected, treatment may remove microscopic areas of damaged surface tissue, create controlled thermal zones deeper within the skin, or combine both.

The skin then begins its natural healing response. As treated areas recover, surface renewal occurs and collagen remodeling develops progressively beneath the surface — skin that looks smoother, clearer, more even, and refreshed over time. From a subtle refresh to more comprehensive resurfacing, three treatment approaches let us personalize your experience around your skin, your goals, and the amount of downtime that works for you.

We're not simply treating what you see. We're creating a controlled process of skin renewal.

Skin Beauty + Skin Health

Looking Better Is Only Part Of The Story.

Beautiful skin and well-cared-for skin aren't separate goals.

Many changes associated with aging — uneven pigmentation, rough texture, fine lines, and loss of radiance — are also visible signs of years of cumulative ultraviolet exposure. Laser resurfacing allows us to address some of those visible changes while stimulating renewal within the skin. And as a dermatology practice, we look beyond aesthetics:

We want your skin to look its best — and care for its health just as thoughtfully.

Sun Damage + Precancerous Changes

Where Aesthetics And Dermatology Meet.

Years of cumulative ultraviolet exposure can cause more than brown spots and wrinkles. It can also contribute to actinic keratoses (AKs) — rough or scaly precancerous lesions that develop on chronically sun-exposed skin.

Fractional ablative laser technology has been studied for managing actinic keratoses and broader areas of sun-damaged skin known as field cancerization, particularly when combined with established medical treatments.Source ↗

Cosmetic laser resurfacing is not a substitute for the diagnosis or established treatment of precancerous lesions, and it does not eliminate the risk of developing skin cancer. If we identify suspicious or precancerous changes, we can determine whether they require medical evaluation or a separate treatment plan.

Treat the skin you see. Protect the skin you have.

Refine
Scars + Laser Resurfacing

Surgery Changes Structure. Laser Can Refine The Surface.

Scars can be noticeable for very different reasons. When a scar is widened, poorly positioned, tethered, contracted, or distorts surrounding anatomy, surgical scar revision with Dr. Wall may be the more appropriate starting point. When texture or surface irregularity contributes to the scar's appearance, laser resurfacing may be considered — and some scars benefit from a staged combination of both.

Not every scar needs surgery. Not every scar needs laser. The scar determines the plan.

Common Questions

Asked & Answered.

What's the difference between ablative and non-ablative resurfacing? +

Ablative fractional resurfacing creates microscopic areas of controlled removal within the skin, while non-ablative fractional treatment delivers thermal energy beneath the surface without ablating it in the same way. Each has different advantages, treatment intensities, and recovery profiles. Our technology allows us to use either approach — or combine them — depending on your skin and goals.

Do you use a CO₂ laser? +

Yes. Our resurfacing technology includes fractional CO₂ resurfacing as well as 1570 nm non-ablative fractional resurfacing. These technologies can be customized and used independently or together.

How much downtime should I expect? +

It depends on your treatment. A lighter non-ablative treatment generally has a different recovery profile than more intensive fractional CO₂ or combination resurfacing. We'll discuss your anticipated recovery before treatment.

Does laser resurfacing help sun damage? +

Laser resurfacing can improve visible signs of photodamage such as appropriate pigmentation, rough texture, fine lines, and uneven tone. It does not, however, erase your history of ultraviolet exposure or eliminate your future risk of skin cancer.

Can laser resurfacing treat precancerous skin? +

Ablative fractional lasers have been studied for actinic keratoses and field cancerization, and clinical studies have demonstrated improved AK clearance with certain laser-assisted treatment protocols. That does not mean routine cosmetic laser resurfacing should be considered a substitute for diagnosing or treating actinic keratoses or skin cancer. If precancerous changes are present, we'll recommend an appropriate medical treatment plan.

Can laser resurfacing improve scars? +

Yes, certain scars may benefit — particularly when texture or surface irregularity contributes to their appearance. Structural scar concerns may be better suited to surgical scar revision with Dr. Wall.

Will I need more than one treatment? +

It depends on the concern, treatment intensity, and desired outcome. Some patients may choose a more comprehensive treatment, while others may benefit from a series of lighter treatments.
